You must use Music CD-R or Music CD-RW discs with the DA-3826; like all audio CD recorders, it will not work with Data discs. The DA-3826 writes audio CDs at 4X speed. It takes 18 minutes to dub an entire disc in the Play Tray to a disc in the Record Tray. You can also record in from an external device, such as a tape deck or minidisc player. When recording from an external source, the DA-3826 writes at 1X speed (real time). If you frequently shake up your listening selection, Music CD-RW discs are the way to go. Erase and reuse the same piece of media over and over again without sacrificing audio quality. The DA-3826 dubs to Music CD-RW discs at 2X speed. The DA-3826 hits a grand slam in the connectivity department. This unit is outfitted to interface with a wide variety of gear for recording and playback. The jack pack hosts one analog line input, two analog line outputs, two coaxial digital inputs, two coaxial digital outputs, one optical digital output and one optical digital input. The DA-3826 operates a lot like a dual-well cassette deck, but it produces digital recordings that sound infinitely better.
